What you'll do:
In this live class, we will be colouring our royal icing together, and thinning it to the perfect consistency for each design! While we will be decorating some basic designs, the main focus of this class is ICING CONSISTENCY!
What you'll need:
Food Items Checklist:
Prior to the class, you will need to have your cookies baked and completely cooled.
You will receive a copy of my icing recipe, please have it prepared for the class. If you are using your own recipe, please ensure that it is a stiff consistency. This is important as we will work together to thin out the icing to the correct consistency.
Gold or ivory food coloring
Scribe tool (or toothpick) - to help move icing around on the cookie
Tipless Piping Bags (If you prefer to use tips, please have an assortment of sizes, 1.5 and 2)
Bag clips (to seal the top of your bags) - this is optional as you can just tie a knot at the top of the bag
Assorted Paint Brushes
A spray bottle filled with water (to thin out the icing )
Edible food pen- to outline areas of the car and pumpkin
I will be using Roxy & Rich Dust food colourants, but you can easily use gel colours. I will demo the mixing of gels at the beginning of the class.
Here is a list of the colours:
Prior to the class, please have your Pumpkin Icing transfers ready - you will receive a transfer sheet after class purchase. I will however also demonstrate how to make these during the class.
Gold Lustre Dust (for the splatter on the pumpkin)
Any high content alcohol to dilute the dust
Cocoa or Brown Petal Dust to add dimension to the pumpkin - once again optional. You can simply watch this portion for future reference. If you forego the lustre dust and petal dust, then you do not require the paint brushes and palette.
