How to Participate: 

This class is hosted online. Once you book, you’ll receive an email with a link and details on how to join. Anyone with the ingredients can participate from their own kitchen.

A guide will be sent prior to the class, please review it to ensure all of your equipment has been gathered and prepared. Please be sure to have the buttercream prepared ahead of time, and piping bags filled.

What you'll do:

You will learn over 20 different decorating styles that are going to take your cupcakes to the next level!

What you'll need:

For Buttercream:

  • Powdered sugar
  • Unsalted butter
  • Vegetable shortening
  • Heavy cream
  • Vanilla extract
  • Lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt
  • Gel coloring (optional)

For Chocolate Cupcakes:

  • All purpose flour
  • Granulated sugar
  • Unsweetened cocoa
  • Baking soda
  • Baking powder
  • Large eggs
  • Sour cream
  • Dark chocolate chips
  • Pure vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil
  • Salt

Extras:

Any extra toppings can be added to decorated cupcakes - sprinkles, fresh fruits, flowers, snacks, etc.

Equipment:

  • Stand/Hand mixer (for preparing buttercream)
  • Cupcake baking tray
  • 20 cupcake liners
  • no. 6B piping tip
  • no. 1M piping tip
  • no. 1A piping tip
  • no. 2D piping tip
  • no. 125 piping tip
  • 5 X 12 inch piping bags

Items to be prepared ahead of class:

  • One batch of cupcakes (atleast 24). More cupcakes will allow you to practice more easily. Cupcakes may be of any flavor, see recipe page for ideas!
  • One batch of buttercream (7 cups). Sheri will be deomonstrating using American buttercream, but any buttercream may be used as long as it holds its shape.
  • Piping bags fitted with tips, and filled with buttercream (Buttercream should be slightly cooler than room temperature).
