The mix is good for up to 12 months.
- Refrigerate prepared icing in airtight container for up to 2 weeks. Mix before using.
What you'll need:
- 1/2 cup shortening,
- 1/2 cup or one stick butter softened,
- icing mix, and
- 1/4 cup water or milk.
Directions:
Cream softened butter and shortening. For best results use electric mixer. Add icing mix, water or milk and mix until fluffy and smooth. About 3 to 5 minutes.
For a thin spreading consistency, add 1 tablespoon water or milk until desired consistency is reached. For a stiff decorating consistency, add 1 tablespoon confectioner’s sugar until desired consistency is reached.
