Introducing Stay Sweet Starter Mac Kit

Thank you to all of you who have tried my kit! For those who haven't, you can find my Starter Macaron Kit here and bake your own delicious macarons at home!

I hope you are staying well and healthy and appreciate your patience during these difficult times. If you are like me, baking has been one of the few things keeping me sane, and this kit is the perfect trick to keeping the whole family entertained! Whether you are looking for a fun activity or satisfying your sweet tooth, this macaron kit is for you! In addition, to make your experience the most enjoyable, I wanted to share a few tips and tricks below:

Tip #1: Make sure to measure out the macaron shell base ingredients. It is important to have the mixture measure 270g so that the shells stay nice and smooth!

Tip #2: If you are not sure you have stiff peaks, tilt the bowl slightly to the side for 5-10 seconds. If you can see the batter move/slide, then keep beating! If the batter does not move at all, then you are good to go!

Tip #3: Create a cool ombre effect with the buttercream by splitting the buttercream into thirds (light, medium, and dark). Control the intensity of color by adding 1-2 drops for light and then increasing 1 to 2 drops for the medium and then the dark.

Tip #4: Create a marble effect on the macaron shells by dipping the toothpick end (about halfway up) through the food color. Use the food colored toothpick to swipe vertical stripes on the inside of the piping bag. Once stripes are placed around the bag, fill with macaron batter and pipe!

Tip #5: Spread buttercream on top of the shell and dip in your favorite sprinkles! Keep in the fridge so that the tops don’t get soggy until ready to eat!

Make sure to tag @staysweetnyc in your colorful creations, so I can see the creative and fun ways you are using your kits!

Happy Baking!
