A few years ago I did the cool thing and bought myself an electric pressure cooker. We were still in the early days of the craze but I already had a few friends buying their second one who had convinced me that it would change my life. They were right. Beyond eliminating all the fears I had accumulated growing up with a screaming pressure cooker always on the stove, this single device became the great equalizer. Chef or novice, if you had a solid recipe in hand it would always come out the same way, perfect.
While browsing through the many electric pressure cooker Facebook groups I happen to stumble upon a blogger who’s recipes became my family’s favorites. Archana Mundhe’s “Ministry of Curry” soon became the home base for many beginners as well and veterans of this smart cooking device. Whether it be from her blog, her classes, or her cookbook, her recipes showcase the fine balance of ease, speed and un-compromised taste. More than anything else her recipes are consistent and reliable, with the only variable being the ingredients you use. Her followers agree, there is rarely ever any feedback on the method and most of the time it is mostly inquiries of where to find “fenugreek leaves” or other speciality products. That is precisely where Global Belly stepped in.
We discussed this in great length with Archana and understood that if we could create custom kits with precise measurement of spices, grains, lentils and other hard-to-find ingredients for her recipes, electric pressure cooker users could truly cook without any compromise or fear. Together we selected the recipes, began testing, and developed two custom kits that deliver true value for the home cook.
Each kit features 10 -15 different must have ingredients that are portioned out precisely with a detailed recipe card to guide you through the cooking process.
The kits include only shelf stable products and can be stored in your pantry and cooked whenever the craving hits. Since you add your own fresh protein or vegetables to the kits they are completely customizable based on palate, diet, or inspiration.
Ministry of Curry and Global Belly have the same goal. We both want more people to cook at home and cook from scratch. We both want to eliminate fear and intimidation from the process of cooking international cuisines at home and we both want to make as many bellies happy as possible.
